"Deploying and Administering BI.ZONE Secure DNS" is a technical course at the BCE (Certified Engineer) level for deployment engineers. In 30 hours, you'll master deploying BI.ZONE Secure DNS in a standard configuration, configuring DNS query redirection, filtering and blocking malicious domains, group-based user policies, and troubleshooting the product. Hands-on work takes place on an isolated cloud lab with the product already deployed — the lab opens from a browser over secure access, no local installation needed.
Who this course is for
- Deployment engineers rolling out BI.ZONE Secure DNS in a standard configuration for customers or in their own infrastructure.
- Network administrators and support specialists responsible for name resolution and DNS-level protection.
- Specialists at BI.ZONE partners and on customer teams preparing for BCE-level certification.
Course program
- BI.ZONE Secure DNS architecture. Product components, where secure DNS fits in the network, and infrastructure requirements.
- Deployment in a standard configuration. Installation and initial setup, redirecting DNS queries to the secure resolver.
- Filtering and blocking. Configuring categories, blocking malicious and phishing domains, and using threat intelligence data.
- Policies and groups. Filtering rules by user group and site, exceptions, and allowlists.
- Troubleshooting and operations. Analyzing query logs, investigating false positives, monitoring, and updating the product.
What you'll be able to do after the course
- Deploy BI.ZONE Secure DNS in a standard configuration within the customer's infrastructure.
- Configure query redirection and DNS-level filtering.
- Build group-based blocking policies and work with domain lists.
- Troubleshoot common operational issues and update the product.
Lab environment
Hands-on work takes place in a personal cloud lab with BI.ZONE Secure DNS deployed: a secure resolver and workstations for testing query filtering. The lab is isolated, opens over secure access, and runs in a browser — no local setup required.
BCE certification
The course prepares you for BCE (Certified Engineer) competency assessment. Depending on the level, the assessment is either a test or a hands-on lab session with a trainer. On completion, BI.ZONE issues an electronic certificate valid for one year, renewable afterward. The BCE certificate confirms an engineer's readiness to deploy and configure the product in a standard configuration.
